Tropica Limnophila aquatica - Giant Ambulia
>Gorgeous fine-leaved stem plant
>Light green colour
>Up to 15 cm wide shoots
An extremely beautiful aquarium plant from tropical Asia, circled by light-green and finely branched leaves. In the right growing conditions with added CO2 and a nutritious bottom this plant grows fast and can become 25-50 cm long and each stem up to 15 cm wide.
In good light it forms horizontal side shoots and becomes attractive and bushy. Most decorative when several stems are planted in a small group, best in big, spacious tanks. In open aquariums it sometimes sends emersed shoots above the water surface, forming conspicuous flowers that are white with purple or violet blotches.
This beautiful aquarium plant has its origins in India and Sri Lanka.
Its fine-structured light green leaves contrast very nicely against other plants. It is not very demanding, however it develops best with CO2 injection as well as a good nutrient supply with liquid fertilisers and/or over the substrate. Under sufficient light, it grows horizontally, forming a great number of lateral shoots, which gives it a very bushy look.
It is best presented in a group of several stems. In open tanks, it may form shoots with small blue flowers above the waterline.
