Easy - great for beginners
- Easy plants which thrive and grow with minimal care.
- Plants requiring little light and only 0.25 watts per litre.
- CO2 injection is not a requirements but is recommended for more exuberant growth.
- Low maintenance plants, ideal for beginners or low-tech aquariums.
- Lower algae risk with routine water changes.
Medium - plants requiring a little extra care
- Medium sized plants need at least ½ watt of light per litre to thrive.
- Most plants require CO2 injection or liquid carbon dosing to ensure plants grow with good colour and density.
- ½-1 hours of weekly maintenance is required, depending on the speed of growth and development of the plants.
- Liquid fertiliser is required. Seachem or ADA are recommended.
Advanced - the most high maintenance
- High maintenance plants require at least 0.75 watts per litre or more to thrive.
- Continuous high CO2 injection is required during daylight hours.
- Aquarium requires 1-2 hours of maintenance per week.

- Higher risk of algae if maintenance is not carried out regularly.
