Why TWINSTAR LED bulbs?
It's not surprising that LED bulbs are the most frequently used type of aquarium lighting nowadays. Twinstar's LED lighting can be installed in all sorts of different ways. That way the lighting can be fully adapted to the needs and wants of the plants in your aquarium. Twinstar's LED bulbs are of high light intensity. They make the water in your aquarium appear crystal clear. Not only is this important for plant growth but it also has a big influence upon the pleasure that you get from your aquarium. The different Twinstar lines are of different qualities.
The sustainability of TWINSTAR LED bulbs
LED lighting generally lasts a long time. It is a very economical form of lighting. LED bulbs soon save 80 to 90% energy, compared to incandescent or halogen bulbs. The expected lifespan of a LED bulb is many times longer than that of conventional lighting. LED bulbs don't get hot. This used always to be the case with other bulbs. Twinstar LED bulbs turn all their energy to light and absolutely none to heat. Exactly what you want for your aquarium!
Twinstar RGB technology
Bulbs that use RGB technology are absolutely on trend! Twinstar was the first brand in Europe to use RGB technology for aquarium LED bulbs. Your aquarium will become incredibly vivid from the colours you can make with them. Their intense colours come in a full spectrum from 400 to 700 nm. This way your plants get the opportunity to really thrive and bloom.
Use a Twinstart wifi dimmer
You can use this cordless Twinstart dimmer to dim your Twinstar lighting. You can set it to dim in steps. You can use these steps to organise the intensity of the light. There's an accompanying app to operate the dimmer. This way, you can set your lights to go off and on at sunrise and sunset, for example.
Can you have too many Twinstar lights?
It might seem smart to place your aquarium by a window. But in most cases it's not such a good idea. Too much sunlight can really harm your aquarium. And too much light from your Twinstar lights can be harmful too. Therefore we'd always recommend you choose specific time frames for lighting your aquarium. Take your aquarium's location into account, the substrate you've put in your aquarium, which plants are in your aquarium and which fish live in your aquarium too.
When should you switch your Twinstar lights on?
The Twinstar WiFi dimmer is thus to be recommended from our point of view. On average, it's a good idea to have your aquarium lighting on for 9 to 12 hours a day. Like with everything to do with looking after your aquarium, this depends entirely on the needs and wants of your aquarium. To find out what's best for your aquarium, begin by experimenting with your new lights. Start by having your lighting on for 10 hours a day and see how your aquarium reacts. Are the plants growing more slowly? Have they stopped growing? Then you can put your Twinstar lights on for an extra hour. Can you see a difference? Is your aquarium starting to suffer from algae? Then you should turn the lights off earlier. After a lot of experimenting, you'll get to a stage when you'll know exactly how long to leave them on.
