Essential macronutrient
Easy-Life Nitro and Easy-Life Phospho are used to treat shortages of resp. nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). A lack of these macro elements irrevocably leads to faltering plant growth or even growth arrest.
In plant aquariums with few or no fish, shortages of N and P can quickly arise, because little or no fish feed (together with fish excretions, the main source of N and P) is used. This can also quickly be the case in aquariums in which a very high plant density is available. Nitro (contains nitrate NO3) and Phospho (contains phosphate PO4) immediately make up for these deficiencies.
Usually, the ratio between nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4) is looked at via the so-called Redfield ratio.
Recommended value NO3
Extra nitrate is mainly added in plant aquariums with many plants and few fish. In such cases, a shortage of nitrate can occur, causing the plants to grow poorly. Normally the target value of NO3 is between 10 - 20 mg/l.
Usage
Weekly addition after measurement 10 ml per 500 liters increases the NO3 concentration by 2.0 mg/L and the K concentration by 1.3 mg/L
