> Attractive epiphyte from Borneo
> Elongated, wavy leaves
> Young leaves with reddish-brown shades
> Bushy, low growth habit
"Lamandau Mini Red" is a rare, attractive Bucephalandra form from the Lamandau region of southwestern Borneo. It has not yet been determined per species. Our plants are not collected from nature, but propagated in nurseries and tissue culture. "Lamandau Mini Red" develops densely branched rhizomes and has a low, bushy growth habit. The leaves are short-stalked, oblong-obovate with a wavy edge. They grow to about 3.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. The young leaves in particular show beautiful reddish-brown shades; older leaves are dark green. The plant regularly develops beautiful inflorescences. Like other Bucephalandras, "Lamandau Mini Red" is best placed on hardened surfaces (rock or driftwood), where it will attach itself with its roots. The growth is very slow. An average light intensity, a good CO2 and nutrient supply and water flow contribute to a vital appearance of the plant. It is easily propagated by cuttings from the main and side shoots. It can also be tied into the ground, but the rhizome should not be buried to prevent rotting of the rhizome.
Bucephalandra sp. "Mini Red" is a recommended epiphyte for the hardscape that looks better with age and increasing size of the stand.
